Editorial Method, Authorship and Update History

Who maintains this independent Venice guide, how official sources and archive images are checked, and how editorial updates are recorded.

Last updated: 2026-10-19

Who writes and maintains the guide

The site-level editorial credit is Vaporetto Meaning. It identifies the publishing website, not a named travel expert or a claim that a reporting team has walked each route. No individual field reporter is currently credited.

We publish an independent educational guide about a Venetian word and water transport. We are not ACTV, AVM or Venezia Unica, and do not sell transport tickets.

How information is reviewed

  1. Start with the relevant ACTV timetable, fare page or app instructions. Link the specific document used.
  2. Record the source-review date separately from a timetable’s effective date and a photo’s capture date.
  3. Check route direction, departure column, pier letter and stop sequence together. Do not turn one example departure into a universal journey-time promise.
  4. Check ticket eligibility, duration, coverage and exclusions together; a price alone is incomplete.
  5. Label editorial explanations and limitations. Published-source research is not the same as an on-site inspection.

Photographs and pronunciation

We inspect the displayed images and record source, photographer, date and license where available. Unknown locations remain unknown. Archive pictures are not relabelled as current scenes, and diagrams are explicitly identified as illustrations.

A human pronunciation link leads to the original third-party recording with the speaker information supplied by that source. Device-generated speech is separately labelled. No third-party recording is copied into this site without an appropriate license.

Updates and corrections

Dates are maintained when content or a source review actually changes; a rebuild does not automatically refresh them. Individual guides have their own change log describing the material edited. An update does not imply a fresh site visit.

A separate public corrections email has not yet been published. You can sign in to send a correction through a support ticket. Include the affected page, stop/direction, observation date and supporting public source. Do not send private tickets or personal data. For an immediate journey, contact the transport operator through its official channels.

Publication history

  • 19 October 2026: Added this editorial policy and site-level author credit. Published the standalone Santa Lucia → Rialto guide, retaining the existing route evidence and adding a dated change log.
